Hotels and Accommodations

The convention will be held at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, located next to Interstate 40 at Exit 125 in Hickory NC. There are several medium sized hotels located adjacent to the convention center. We are starting with the Courtyard by Marriott, who has a door that opens into the convention center parking lot. Talk about close!!! They are giving us a rate of $149 per night, a VERY reasonable rate, with a coupon to reduce the breakfast cost. The Courtyard also has bar facilities, which is important for many narrow gaugers after a long day of talking trains.

For those who aren’t interested in partaking, we also have a special price at the Hampton Inn, which also has a back door that exits into the Convention Center parking lot. That rate is $149 per night, and continental breakfast is included. Both are great hotels.

There are other hotels near the Convention Center, including a Fairfield, a Hilton Garden Inn, and a Best Western. Once the first two hotels are full, we will be expanding out into the other hotels. All told, there are hundreds of hotel rooms within walking or quick driving distance of the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
